Developing a Partnership
Once we know the 7 games we can start to be more particular and start to win the 7 games. Your horse will recognize you as a leader, and leadership is what horses need. Just like the alpha mare they trust her unconditionally and follow her wherever she goes, they will yield from her and take instruction without question with just a look. Learn to be the leader and you will see just how sensitive your horse can be, through phases we teach our horse to respond to the lightest pressure, by making the undesirable difficult and the desirable easy. Horses look for the path of least resistance, and soon seek harmony and comfort. We must learn to control our energy and be the master of our emotions, horses know when we are scared, nervous, mad and frustrated. We as humans must learn to be in control of our emotions, by meeting our horses resistance and adding 4 ounces without getting mean or mad. Pat developed the Carrot Stick to represent the extreme middle of the roadist, some people are carrot people who try to get their horses to respond through treats, while others are stick people who try to make the horse do what they want through force and fear. We must learn to be assertive without being aggressive. Horses need Love, Language and Leadership in equal doses not one more than the other. Learn the natural riding dynamics of a horse and how to use your energy, seat, hands, and feet more effectively. This is a level 2/3 Online & Freestyle Riding course.
